At Taste of Colombia, we ship orders anywhere in New Zealand using Courier Post. For large orders (50 kg or more), we use a freight company (Mainfreight).
By placing an order with us, you agree to our shipping terms. Customers are responsible for selecting the correct shipping option.
- Rural addresses have an additional fee that must be paid.
- If you prefer to avoid this charge, you can provide an urban address.
- You can check if your address is rural here: Courier Post Address Checker.
- Rural deliveries are not eligible for free shipping.
If the address checker displays a green icon next to “rural,” your address is classified as rural.
Important: Rural orders without the corresponding fee will not be processed until the additional amount is paid. We reserve the right to charge a 5% restocking fee for canceled orders.

Shipping Rates
We use standard Courier Post rates, which vary depending on distance and package weight. Below are our main rates:
- Local (within the city): $5.77 (up to 25 kg, overnight shipping).
- Nearby cities (up to 75 km): $5.77 (up to 25 kg, overnight shipping).
- One sector (up to 150 km): $10.95 (up to 15 kg, overnight shipping).
- Additional weight: +$0.91 per extra kg.
- Two sectors (more than 150 km): $12.46 (up to 3 kg, overnight shipping).
- Additional weight: +$1.29 per extra kg.
- Inter-island (overnight shipping): $23.48 (up to 3 kg).
- Additional weight: +$5.77 per extra kg.
- Inter-island (economy 2-3 days): $19.36 (up to 3 kg).
- Additional weight: +$3.70 per extra kg.
Rates may change according to the courier company’s policy.
Important: Rural deliveries have an additional surcharge of $5 NZD.
Shipping of Frozen Products
Our frozen products are shipped via standard courier with an overnight delivery option.
However, courier delays may cause your order to take 2 to 5 business days to arrive. We are not responsible for defrosted products due to shipping delays.
Please note:
- Do not refreeze defrosted products; they must be cooked immediately.
- To avoid risks, you can pick up your order directly at our store at:
New World Fuel Miramar, 29 Miramar Avenue, Wellington, New Zealand. - To minimize the risk of defrosting, we recommend placing orders Monday through Thursday.
- Orders placed on Friday or over the weekend will be processed the following Monday.
Delivery Times
- Auckland & North Island: 2-7 business days.
- South Island: 3-10 business days.
- Rural addresses: Additional 2-3 business days.
Orders are collected by the courier the next business day after payment.
Order Receipt and Damaged Products
All orders are shipped through a reliable courier service, but they do not require a signature upon delivery.
- If you want your package to be sent with a “signature required” option, please let us know. This may incur an additional fee.
- If you prefer your package to be left in your mailbox, we can arrange that, but Taste of Colombia and the courier company will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
If a package arrives damaged:
- Do not sign for or accept the package.
- Take photos of the package and notify us immediately.
If you accept the package and later find damage, we will not be able to process claims or refunds.
Refund and Return Policy
We do not accept returns unless:
- We made an error with your order.
- The product received is defective or damaged.
If your order has not arrived, please contact us so we can initiate an investigation with the courier company. Refunds will not be issued until the investigation is complete.
